Staff of the Moon Jade
The Staff of the Moon Jade is Arceus's Artifact++ casting focus. It has a pure-white handle and a jade stone held in a crescent-shaped head. Arceus summons it for his final student trial against Alex Rogue, channels several high-level spells through it, and later uses it for forceful displacement and long-range teleportation. The corpus does not disclose an independent stat block for the staff or document its transfer, destruction, or replacement. (Chapters 312, 314, 319, 336)
History
Reveal during the final student quest
Arceus sways a staff to move himself and Alex from the Mage Tower to their outdoor arena, then summons the named Staff of the Moon Jade into his grasp when the trial begins. The weapon is identified at Artifact++ rank and described in detail before combat. Arceus keeps it throughout the duel while Alex's own staff is absorbed by the Crown of Calamity. (Chapter 312)
Combat use
Arceus uses the staff to deflect Alex's Demonic Spear and casts Oblivion Lance from its tip. During the decisive phase, he spins or raises the same staff while invoking Supreme Magic Barrier, Arcane Domain, and Grand Arcane Explosion. These scenes establish it as his recurring magical focus, but the narrative attributes the named abilities to Arceus rather than presenting them as unique skills stored inside the item. (Chapters 312, 314)
Travel and last documented custody
After inviting Alex to the Grand Mage Order meeting, Arceus grips the Staff of the Moon Jade and uses a burst of force to expel him from the Mage Tower. Two weeks later he summons it again; its tip glows with ethereal light as he surrounds both travelers with power and initiates a consent-based teleport to Grand Mage Island. Arceus remains its sole documented holder at the last appearance. (Chapters 319, 336)
Abilities and properties
- The staff is ranked Artifact++ and has a pure-white handle capped by a jade stone inside a crescent-shaped holder. No numeric attribute bonuses, cooldown reduction, mana discount, or item-specific passive effect is displayed in the supplied chapters. (Chapter 312)
- It acts as a channel and aim point for Arceus's magic. Oblivion Lance visibly forms at its tip, while staff movements accompany defensive barriers, domain creation, a large-area explosion, deflection, and spatial displacement. The source does not establish that another holder would automatically gain those spells. (Chapters 312, 314, 319, and 336)
- Arceus uses the staff to relocate targets both locally and over great distance. One motion ejects Alex from the Mage Tower, while the later Grand Mage Island teleport presents Alex with an acceptance prompt before transporting both of them. The text does not define a maximum range or general teleport cooldown. (Chapters 319, 336)
