Dragonheart Essence

The Dragonheart Essence is an Artifact-ranked consumable extracted from a slain dragon’s core. Alex Rogue first seeks it as a way to save the critically injured Alphox; another specimen later becomes one of the three sacrifices required for Alex’s Dragon Bloodline. (Chapters 170, 182, 285)

Search for Alphox’s cure

The Undead King tells Alex that Dragonheart Essence can mend even grave draconic injuries and is extracted from a living dragon’s core. Helping Light subsequently identifies a specimen in a secret realm on the Tower of Destiny’s fifth floor, guarded by the floor boss and accessible only with a key. Alex follows that lead instead of abandoning Alphox for a different bloodline route. (Chapters 170, 176)

The secret-realm boss Nivran confirms that the essence can only be drawn from a slain dragon’s corpse. After defeating him, Alex uses Extraction and receives a dark, beating heart surrounded by golden light. Although the artifact could contribute to his own Dragon Bloodline, Alex gives it to Alphox, who consumes it; the resulting light closes his wounds and restores the hole in his wing. (Chapters 179, 182)

Bloodline sacrifice

Because the first specimen is consumed, Alex later sets out to find another. By the Dragon Altar ritual he possesses a second Dragonheart Essence and places it with a Soulstone and the Wings of Destiny on three matching pedestals. All three artifacts disintegrate into particles and merge into the ritual, after which Alex acquires the SSS Dragon Bloodline. The corpus documents possession and expenditure of this later specimen but not its precise acquisition scene. (Chapters 197, 285)

Abilities and properties

• Can mend almost any injury across races, with especially potent regeneration for dragons; Alphox’s consumption provides the demonstrated healing case. (Chapter 182)
• When used in alchemy, it increases a potion’s effects by a factor of ten. No alchemical use is shown in the supplied corpus. (Chapter 182)
• Serves as one of the required materials for the Dragon Bloodline ritual alongside two suitable dragon wings and a Soulstone. The altar consumes the contributing artifacts. (Chapters 195, 285)
• It is a consumable substance rather than permanent equipment: one specimen is eaten by Alphox, and another is expended by the altar. (Chapters 182, 285)
