Kael's Nine-Sword Arsenal

Kael's Nine-Sword Arsenal is the coordinated set of eight waist-carried swords and one large broadsword that defines Kael Stormrider's fighting style. The auxiliary blades provide continuous changes of angle and rhythm, while their combined power can be concentrated around the broadsword for a decisive attack.

History

Academy duel

Kael reveals the full arsenal during his entrance-test battle with Atticus. He rapidly abandons a checked blade, draws another, and recalls the swords to their sheaths so that one parry never ends his pressure. The large broadsword supplies a heavier line of attack when variation is no longer enough. Atticus studies the method as an opponent but never takes custody of any weapon. (Chapters 171–175 and 268)

Convergent arsenal

Kael later raises the eight auxiliary swords and converts them into crimson light that converges around the broadsword. This establishes the set as one linked signature armament rather than nine unrelated possessions. The transformation concentrates their force for a finishing strike, but the corpus does not state that the blades are permanently consumed or cease to exist after convergence. (Chapter 523)

Later campaigns

Kael continues using the broadsword and auxiliary blades in later military and higher-plane fighting. Stronger bodies and armor test the set's ability to cut divine-scale targets, yet he retains the same weapon-centered path rather than transferring or replacing the arsenal with a separately named artifact. Its last explicit uses leave the set in his custody. (Chapters 1030 and 1445–1449)

• The auxiliary swords can become crimson energy that gathers around the broadsword, amplifying a convergent attack. The energy source interacts with Kael's abilities and is not shown operating without him. (Chapter 523)
• Superior speed, armor, or transformed bodies can still read, evade, or blunt the set; possession of nine weapons does not make its attacks unconditional. (Chapters 172–175 and 1445–1449)

Ownership and custody

Atticus Ravenstein studies and fights against the arsenal but never owns, borrows, or takes custody of it.
