Anorah's Father's Blade

Anorah's Father's Blade is an inherited sword bearing Asterra's insignia and retaining a connection capable of responding to its former wielder. Distinct from Anorah's ordinary personal weapon, it serves as proof that her father may still live and as a tracing token in her search for him.

History

Proof from Asterra

Go gives the sword to Atticus, who recognizes the same Asterra insignia associated with Anorah's weapon. When it reaches Anorah, the blade's existence and provenance persuade her that her father has survived rather than simply becoming an unverified story offered by a stranger. Custody passes to her because the weapon is a family link, not a prize Atticus claims. (Chapters 1629 and 1632)

Custody and search

Anorah keeps the blade close and grips it as both evidence and an emotional connection while waiting for it to detect her father's trace. The sword does not immediately solve the search, so possession creates hope without certainty.
