Zair

Zair is Lyra's protective brother, a silver-will fighter whose caution repeatedly restrains her hunger for dangerous research. He accepts enslavement to Atticus when it becomes the price of keeping them together and alive.

Biography

Protection, defeat, and compelled service

Zair tries to keep Lyra away from gods and experiments likely to consume her curiosity, even though enforcing limits leaves him guilty when her enthusiasm fades. During the resource war, he attacks Orvain to retrieve his sister and nearly kills the Redflame heir with Absolute Severance before guardians intervene. Atticus then offers survival only if both siblings become his slaves, and Zair accepts the mental mark without resistance once he decides it protects Lyra. (Chapters 1603–1613)

Under Atticus, Zair explains his priorities plainly and continues treating Lyra's safety as the measure of every choice. He supplies most of the siblings' offense while Lyra enhances him with combinations of energy, then watches Atticus eliminate Archdukes beyond their scale. By the return to Eldoralth, both silver siblings remain alive and integrated into the ruler's circle, though their obedience began under coercion. (Chapters 1619–1667)

Appearance and personality

Zair shares the siblings' silver identity and carries himself with a firm, guarded expression. He is protective, disciplined, quietly affectionate, and willing to sacrifice personal freedom for Lyra, while showing dry pride when others question her worth.

Abilities, bloodlines, and will

Zair wields silver will and the sword technique Absolute Severance, described as a single absolute strike intended to cut anything. Orvain survives only because two guardians intercept it. Lyra can enhance Zair by combining energies, while Atticus can repair his wounds and impose a mental slave mark through much greater will. The technique's cost and absolute upper limit are not proven. (Chapters 1611–1624)
