Xal'zereth

Xal'zereth is the Zorvan colonel at the center of the military-camp assault, equipped with predictive calculation, multidomain mana control, and advanced technology. His inability to model Atticus turns a surgical operation into a world-breaking duel.

Biography

Life-Artifact assault and failed prediction

The Zorvan operation sacrifices Obsidian Order youths to breach and seal the training dimension, placing Xal'zereth's force inside a supposedly secure Alliance site. He removes Atticus from the opening battle with an Obsidian Order Life Artifact because intelligence identifies him as the anomalous variable, then engages after Viktor's sacrifice breaks that containment. The plan is precise, costly, and designed around denying outside interference. (Chapters 1026–1041)

Xal'zereth uses layered shields, teleportation, encoded glyphs, mana suppression, and continuous simulations to predict Atticus's responses. Atticus mimics the shield signature, phases Katara through it, and exploits spiritual-eye weaknesses that are not future sight. As Atticus's adaptation invalidates every model, the battle fractures the dimension; Xal'zereth ultimately dies after escalating to self-destructive force, leaving Atticus with evidence that still stronger Zorvan authorities exist. Appearance and personality

Xal'zereth is a blue-skinned Zorvan with multiple abyssal-black eyes and a computational, nearly mechanical demeanor. He is cold, exact, highly adaptive, and rarely emotional, making his widening eyes and confusion significant measures of Atticus's disruption.

Abilities, bloodlines, and will

Xal'zereth processes thousands of combat simulations in parallel, teleports, creates glyph-reinforced geometric shields, suppresses mana, manipulates several mana aspects, and uses energy designed to erase living essence. Pure mana resists the erasure, Atticus's elemental embodiment prevents ordinary mana control, and matched mana signatures bypass the shield. His flawless calculations also remain exploitable because the spiritual eye detects underlying weaknesses. (Chapters 1041–1043, 1070)
