Vorlock
Vorlock is a sinister Obsidian Order Expert who treats violence as entertainment while stronger companions control the confrontation. His confidence evaporates the instant Atticus kills Astrion.
Biography
Camp assault and attempted flight
Vorlock hovers with Astrion while Malora attacks below, laughing at her instability until Astrion's attention frightens him into silence. When Atticus refuses to be intimidated, Astrion orders Vorlock to kill the child rather than act personally. Vorlock accepts the command despite sensing Astrion's rage, expecting rank and numbers to make the result routine. (Chapters 106–108)
Atticus decapitates Astrion before Vorlock can adapt. Realizing that the Order's strongest Expert has fallen instantly, Vorlock abandons the mission and flees. Atticus catches him with a storm of azure slashes that divides his head, torso, and limbs; Alvis later finds the pieces and identifies the same sharp weapon pattern on both dead operatives. (Chapters 111–117)
Appearance and personality
Vorlock carries a sinister aura, chilling smile, inhuman-sounding voice, and rasping laugh. He is cruel when protected by stronger allies, deferential to Astrion's anger, and immediately self-preserving when the hierarchy collapses.
Abilities, bloodlines, and will
Vorlock is an Expert-rank aerial combatant with an intense aura, but the source does not show a completed signature attack before Atticus kills him. His inability to perceive or evade the azure slashes defines his practical speed and defensive limit. No bloodline, domain, named technique, or item-assisted ability is established. (Chapters 106–111)
