Voren

Voren is the emotionless Nullite officer who oversees the military training operation until he becomes Atticus's chosen example to the other sergeants. His downfall is administrative rather than fatal, replacing command with an isolated lower post.

Biography

From operation chief to scapegoat

Voren introduces himself as Staff Sergeant and demands the recruits' base information with suffocating, impersonal authority. All drill sergeants report to him, and he evaluates Zoey, Kael, and Atticus within the larger training hierarchy. His rigidity remains subordinate to higher command: when Zenon appears, Voren immediately salutes and moves aside despite controlling everyone else in the hall. (Chapters 972–975)

Voren later refuses to excuse Viktor and Kosher, trying to enforce procedure as Atticus's altered standing destabilizes the room. Zenon demotes him and installs Viktor as Staff Sergeant, after which Voren attempts to rally a petition against both men. No sergeant supports him against Zenon's authority, leaving Voren assigned as an ordinary drill sergeant to a Nullite division island and making his humiliation a warning to the rest. Appearance and personality

Voren is a Nullite with the race's cold, emotionally flat presentation. He is rigid, procedural, status-conscious, resentful of public demotion, and willing to organize resistance only when he expects institutional support.

Abilities, bloodlines, and will

Voren projects a suffocating presence and holds enough military power to supervise drill sergeants, but no named personal technique is demonstrated. As a Nullite, he belongs to the mana-negating race, though the inspected scenes do not isolate his individual range, activation method, or combat application. Higher authority and Zenon's pressure immobilize his political options without requiring a fight. (Chapters 972–996)
