An Apex who expects to survive

Torren resists Elder Oren's insistence that he attend strategic meetings, arguing that he can obtain their information quickly and cannot be killed. His ease is grounded in regenerative power rather than ignorance, yet Oren worries that invulnerability has made him careless before an unprecedented Nexus. Torren joins the named Apexes despite that warning and carries the Regenerari into the event. (Chapters 733–755)

Later, Torren approaches Atticus during an interleader gathering in a tailored suit, using flirtatious humor and conversational probing rather than open hostility. The exchange is brief, and he withdraws with the other leaders when Atticus offers no further opening. He survives the war that follows alongside Lirae, Maera, Kynara, and Ae'ark, confirming that his confidence is not immediately punished. (Chapters 1019–1037)
