Scaela Solmar

Scaela Solmar is a young Redflame noble whose curiosity about Atticus grows into a fatal insistence on testing him personally. Her willingness to ignore her father's warning distinguishes her from more obedient heirs, but also removes the protection his status might have offered.

Biography

Curiosity, pursuit, and the accepted challenge

Scaela enters the Willhall as Dravek Solmar's revered second daughter and one of its youngest gods. She secretly uses Burning Gaze on Atticus and becomes fascinated when his response exceeds expectation, refusing Jarek's request that she respect her father's unusually serious warning. Her attention follows Atticus through class and into the board contest, where she advances toward him even when doing so exposes her champions. (Chapters 1329–1351, 1541)

When Atticus challenges her, Dravek directly orders her not to accept, but Scaela chooses the fight and stakes the mandatory points. She uses five wills and speed intended to deny him the chance to exploit Katara, appearing to erase his advantage. Atticus catches her blade, crosses the exchange, and splits her and the landscape with a single burning line, converting curiosity into a death her father had tried to prevent. (Chapters 1541–1542)

Appearance and personality

Scaela has a piercing, burning gaze and the poised authority of a Marquis's daughter. She is simple in her stated desires, curious, fearless, self-directed, and unnervingly pleased by danger, with enough privilege to ignore most social responses.

Abilities, bloodlines, and will

Scaela uses Burning Gaze through eye contact and wields five wills, a remarkable number even among the gods observing her. Her heat warps the air, her speed can initially outpace an opponent's response, and she fights with a blade. Atticus's greater perception, will coating, and Katara ultimately counter those advantages before any recovery limit is shown. (Chapters 1333, 1541–1542)
