Ronad

Ronad is a sadistic Obsidian Order leader whose murder of Ariel makes him one of the Ravensteins' earliest personal enemies. His air domain and appetite for chaos carry him through years in hiding, but not through Avalon's retaliation.

Biography

Ariel's murder and the hidden Order

Ronad isolates his confrontation with Ariel inside a five-hundred-meter air domain and approaches violence with confident amusement. During the later camp attack, he proposes using Ember to force information from Atticus and kills her when she becomes useful as leverage, deepening Atticus's will through helpless fury. That atrocity, together with the camp massacre, causes the Ravensteins to purge Sector 3 and drives Ronad, Alvis, and their followers into hiding with Vermore support. (Chapters 11, 118–148, 715)

When Atticus and Avalon finally reach the hidden Order settlement, Ronad answers humiliation by reasserting his domain and launching a hurricane. Avalon's already established fire domain suppresses the air currents, denying Ronad the space in which his techniques dominate. Ronad is killed while Alvis is captured, and the Order's other leaders receive his death as proof that the Ravensteins have escalated beyond local retaliation. (Chapters 659–660)

Appearance and personality

Ronad has intense green eyes and a sharp, knowing smirk. He is prideful, mocking, cruel, and drawn to chaos, treating pain and death as entertainment until a stronger domain turns the humiliation back on him.

Abilities, bloodlines, and will

Ronad controls air through a domain initially shown spanning roughly five hundred meters. He manipulates atmosphere, generates hurricanes, and forms lethal air effects inside that controlled space. Another established domain can suppress his own: Avalon's heat constricts the air domain and nullifies its battlefield advantage. The source does not establish a separate bloodline or a posthumous progression. (Chapters 11, 659)
