Ordan
Ordan is a middle-plane Marquis whose composed, instructional manner masks deep fear of Atticus's katana. He becomes both a territorial rival and an example of how the final conflict strips defeated rulers of agency.
Biography
Territory claimant and unwilling puppet
Ordan enters after winning a challenge and claiming territory, addressing opposition with the calm tone of a teacher. When Atticus later confronts him, Ordan tries to maintain composure and even smiles in the face of expected death, but cannot conceal his fear of Katara. He ultimately attacks with his staff and darkness-cloaked thrusts, forcing Atticus to counter the environment and technique rather than accept Ordan's preferred exchange. (Chapters 1538–1558, 1576)
Atticus halts Raziel, blinds Ordan by commanding darkness to vanish, and drives his blade through the Marquis's eyes. Ordan's corpse is then restored with glowing purple eyes and reduced will, returning him to battle as a puppet rather than a resurrected independent ruler. His final appearance leaves his original agency extinguished even though the externally controlled body continues fighting. (Chapter 1576)
Appearance and personality
Ordan wears a mask until removing it during his confrontation with Atticus and carries a staff. He is controlled, unnervingly cheerful under mortal pressure, and skilled at presenting calm authority, though small reactions reveal how thoroughly Katara frightens him.
Abilities, bloodlines, and will
Ordan surrounds himself with thick black energy and channels rapid staff thrusts associated with darkness. Atticus counters him by removing the surrounding darkness and exploiting the resulting loss of vision, showing environmental dependence and vulnerability to direct conceptual control. The later purple-eyed restoration is imposed by another power, not Ordan's demonstrated self-resurrection. (Chapter 1576)
