Nex
Nex is the god of Vortharion, a society whose Warbringers master cognitive mana manipulation and display his portrait as a mark of devotion. His brief conflict with Whisker exposes both the scale of his authority and the vanity attached to it.
Biography
Humiliation before higher powers
Nex rules above Vortharion's continent-destroying Warbringers and is treated by his people as the summit of cognitive mastery. When Whisker and Noctis confront him, Whisker mocks the portraits and his narcissism until Nex's controlled displeasure boils into anger. The encounter does not secure the decisive prestige he expects; later, in the presence of Quiet Flame and Iron Crown, Nex suppresses his resentment and visibly recognizes powers above his own station. (Chapters 1268, 1274–1299)
Appearance and personality
The supplied chapters emphasize Nex's public image more than a detailed physical description: his portrait is worn by Vortharion's elite. He is proud, image-conscious, and quick to anger under ridicule, but capable of hiding that anger when confronting a clearly superior authority.
Abilities, bloodlines, and will
Nex is presented as superior to Vortharion's Warbringers, each of whom has mastered known aspects of cognitive mana manipulation. This establishes his scale and system affiliation, but the corpus does not isolate a complete personal technique, activation method, cost, counter, or bloodline for him in the inspected appearances. His deference to Quiet Flame shows that godhood and cognitive mastery remain relative rather than absolute. (Chapters 1268–1299)
