Neresa
Neresa is a disciplined Surnix commander whose loyalty to her world turns into a personal campaign against Atticus. Her confidence in military force survives the Virelenna, but her revenge against his family provokes a retaliation she cannot control.
Biography
From Virelenna soldier to avenger
Neresa first appears weighing the danger posed by gods under High Marshal Dronvet's warning, then later leads Surnix warriors into the coliseum with rigid military discipline. Her unresolved hostility toward Atticus hardens into a choice to target his mother. In the resulting battle she personally presses Lyanna, Yotad, and the Ravenstein defenders with spear, light armor, and flame, refusing to withdraw even after her formations are disrupted. (Chapters 1238, 1433, 1448–1449)
Her attack brings Atticus to Surnix Hold. When he prepares to destroy the world, Neresa admits that the revenge was hers alone and pleads for its uninvolved population, but he holds her responsible and annihilates it. She condemns him as evil until he removes her voice; the last scene leaves her alive but powerless to reverse the consequence of her own campaign. (Chapter 1450)
Appearance and personality
Neresa wears a militaristic uniform and carries herself with a soldier's controlled expression. In combat, that restraint gives way to furious aggression. She is loyal enough to plead for Surnix's civilians, yet proud and vengeful enough to endanger them by pursuing Atticus's family.
Abilities, bloodlines, and will
Neresa forms radiant light armor around her body, uses a spear at high speed, and launches flames strong enough to engulf an opponent. The armor is demonstrated as reinforcement rather than invulnerability: Lyanna redirects her thrusts and wounds her, while Yotad withstands the fire through his own defenses. Her precise rank, bloodline, reserve limits, and later progression are not stated. (Chapters 1448–1449)
