Luther
Luther is a recurring figure whose role sharpens one of the story's personal, political, or military conflicts.
Biography
A skeptical guard underestimates Atticus
Luther joins the pursuit around the Nexus competition and later accompanies Lucienta in guarding Spineus. Unlike her, he recognizes that hatred is distorting judgment, but he still dismisses reports of Atticus defeating stronger opponents and enters the fight. Atticus overwhelms him with water-assisted strikes and leaves him kneeling before Spineus, making disbelief—not ignorance of the warning signs—his decisive mistake. (Chapters 462 and 479–486)
Appearance and personality
He is a bulky man approximately six feet six inches tall, physically suited to the heavy bone sword he forms. His inward sighs and skepticism make him more restrained than Lucienta without making him prudent enough to withdraw. (Chapters 479–484)
Abilities, bloodlines, and will
Luther forms a long sword from bone and uses mana-enhanced physical combat characteristic of an Ossara warrior. The construct is an innate racial application rather than a separately scoped item. Atticus's speed and water-driven strikes break through before Luther can establish control, and the source does not securely state his rank, regeneration, or any mature domain or Will. (Chapters 482–486)
Relationships
Lucienta is his fellow guard; Spineus is the prince he serves; Atticus is the opponent he underestimates.
