Lark Alverian
Lark Alverian is a recurring figure whose role sharpens one of the story's personal, political, or military conflicts.
Biography
Family grievance leads to collective punishment
Lark waits for Atticus at the academy because he wants revenge for Dell's humiliation and later joins Lila's division. He participates in the Alverian pressure surrounding Aurora, though the evidence does not make him sole architect of the attack. Once Atticus traces the factional involvement, Ravenstein youths hunt and beat Lark with the other first years, making his inherited grievance a costly substitute for independent judgment. (Chapters 156–158 and 380–410)
Appearance and personality
He is a red-haired Alverian youth whose anger appears in gritted teeth and hostile staring. The corpus does not securely establish his eye color, build, or later scarring. (Chapters 156–158 and 380)
Abilities, bloodlines, and will
Lark has academy combat training and the Alverian family's mana heritage, but he remains below Advanced rank when Whisperstrand devices record the conspirators without detection. No personal element, named bloodline effect, weapon art, or Will is demonstrated, so his abilities should not be inferred from relatives' powers. (Chapters 380 and 398–410)
Relationships
Lila Alverian is the family leader whose division he joins; Dell's defeat motivates his hostility toward Atticus.
