Established genius displaced

Gerald enters as an older academy elite already recognized through the Stellaris family and his third-year standing. He participates in the shifting alliances and confrontations around Atticus, initially sharing the senior students' habit of dismissing the newcomer with only a glance. Atticus's victories dismantle that certainty and leave Gerald among the former elites later gathered under a very different balance of power. His final appearance alongside Seraphine, Dell, and other heirs is presence rather than renewed agency. (Chapters 315–375, 404–508, 689, and 1221)
