Carius Valarius
Carius Valarius is the Dimensari Apex, a spatial prodigy whose rivalry with Atticus expands into service under the power manipulating the racial conflict.
Biography
Apex, captive, and conspirator
Carius enters as a leading Nexus contender and fights Atticus with the confidence of a race that regards space as its natural domain. Defeat does not end his importance: his father Azrakan shields his reputation, and later conspirators treat possession of the cocoon holding him as strategically vital. Atticus uses Carius's position to trap Azrakan, but Youn's attempt to kill him is interrupted. Subsequent testimony identifies Carius as Karn's killer and a servant of the Dimensari's hidden patron, leaving his final physical status unresolved but not confirmed dead. (Chapters 729–793, 960–979, and 1015–1110)
Appearance and personality
Carius carries the aloof assurance of an Apex raised as his race's champion. His defeat exposes the danger beneath that pride, but the corpus supplies little dependable physical detail beyond Dimensari traits and does not present a later viewpoint clarifying his motives. (Chapters 729–793 and 960–979)
Abilities, bloodlines, and will
Carius manipulates dimensions and spatial rifts, using displacement, barriers, and attacks from altered space during the Nexus. Atticus's fusion energy and superior adaptability can disrupt Dimensari control, while confinement in the cocoon removes Carius's agency entirely. The source does not establish a separate Will stage or fully distinguish innate racial power from trained technique. (Chapters 729–793 and 1015–1059)
