Astrion
Astrion is Alvis's first disciple, an Obsidian Order infiltrator whose predatory confidence ends when Atticus kills him during the Raven Camp attack.
Biography
Hunter at Raven Camp
Astrion joins the assault on Raven Camp as a powerful expert and treats his companions with cold contempt, confident that the trainees are prey. His role places him directly against Atticus, whose unexpected power overturns the assumed rank difference and kills him. The death deprives Alvis of a prized disciple and becomes an enduring mystery to enemies who cannot understand how a much weaker youth achieved it. (Chapters 106–130, 143–148, and 653)
Appearance and personality
Astrion's defining feature is a cold, predatory gaze capable of frightening even an allied operative. He is controlled and menacing rather than theatrical, projecting the certainty of someone accustomed to being stronger than his targets. (Chapters 106–119)
Abilities, bloodlines, and will
Astrion operates at expert rank and possesses enough aura and combat ability to threaten Raven Camp's defenders. The supplied corpus does not securely isolate his element, bloodline, named techniques, weapon mechanics, or costs. Whatever advantages he carries are insufficient against Atticus's concealed capabilities and tactical response. (Chapters 106–130 and 143–148)
Relationships
- Alvis: Astrion's master, who values exceptional talent and later replaces him with Erion.
- Atticus Ravenstein: The underestimated trainee who kills him.
- Vorlock: An associate whose joking manner collapses under Astrion's predatory attention.
