Muffin
Muffin is the female Griffin hatched and tamed by Kim Sae-Jin. Her flights, public appearances, and work with Knights help The Monster present a living Monster as a trusted companion rather than an enemy.
Biography
Hidden crafts and The Monster
Sae-Jin finds Muffin as a Griffin egg in a Monster field and initially considers eating it before using his Predator Skill to attempt taming. When she hatches, he strokes her and sends thoughts of ownership, obedience, and submission, then introduces his Human, Orc, and Goblin forms so that she will recognize each of them. She grows from a newborn to an adolescent-sized Griffin in roughly three weeks, receives her name from Sae-Jin, and learns to carry him in low-altitude flight through his thought orders. (Chapter 56)
Muffin moves to The Monster's rooftop, where Jo Hahn-Sung becomes one of her caretakers. She behaves calmly while Sae-Jin is present, accepts Hahn-Sung's touch, and then threatens him into repeatedly retrieving a ball once her owner leaves. Government consultations, test-flight photographs, and affectionate video footage make her taming public. When renewed Monster attacks create fear, Joo Ji-Hyuk rides her on rapid-response missions; their success reverses public opinion and turns both Griffin and rider into widely recognized figures. Muffin remains housed and protected by the Guild, including being kept underground during a Red Moon so its light cannot induce Monster frenzy. She later mates with a younger male Griffin and produces thirteen offspring, one of whom is loaned for a Raven Order raid. As a Griffin, Muffin has a hawk-like head and wings, a lion's body, and hawk-like front limbs. Her head has tidy white fur, her body is sturdy and powerfully built, and her fur is exceptionally soft. She is deeply affectionate toward Sae-Jin, licking him, enjoying his touch, and displaying crescent-shaped eyes when content. Away from him she can be cold, dominant, and mischievous, particularly toward Hahn-Sung. - Kim Sae-Jin: Sae-Jin hatches, names, conditions, trains, and openly adores Muffin. She recognizes his different forms and reserves her most affectionate behavior for him.
- Jo Hahn-Sung: Hahn-Sung manages Muffin's research, care, and public rollout. Muffin intimidates him into serving her when Sae-Jin is absent, producing his description of her as the "Satan Reincarnate."
- Joo Ji-Hyuk: Ji-Hyuk becomes Muffin's principal public rider during the first perception campaign. Their fast Monster-response missions earn him the title "Griffin Knight" and help normalize her presence.
