The first human's trials

Ren Zu is the first human, born into a savage world where survival initially means raw meat, blood, and constant danger. His encounters with Hope Gu and countless personified Gu chart the origins of human emotions, institutions, and predicaments. Later cultivators repeatedly use his legends as practical guidance, while a dream realm closest to those stories suggests that his experiences retain power beyond moral allegory.
